Reckless driving kills Nepali man in US

KATHMANDU: A Nepali man was killed in a car accident in Texas, USA on Sunday, it was reported on Thursday.

The Star Telegram named the deceased as Bipin Thapa, 26. He is believed to be a local resident of Bagdol, Lalitpur. Another person a 21-year-old Irving man has not been identified yet. He was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas for the treatment. Police reported his condition to be out of danger.

Irving police said that the accident took place when Thapa driving a gold 2000 Honda Civic, attempted to exit the highway and failed to negotiate the curve. Police added that Bipin lost control of the car, it slid off the highway and his vehicle overturned several times.

Police said that Thapa was not wearing a seat belt while his passenger was wearing his at the time of the accident.

Police suspected that he was drunk while driving.
