RBB cash crunch hits life in Humla

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) in the remote Himalayan district of Humla faced a cash crunch on Thursday.

Development projects running in the district have also been affected due to lack of sufficient cash.

Air service from Nepalgunj and Surkhet has stopped since the past one month and as a result the amount to be received from Nepal Rastra Bank has stopped coming, manager of Ratriya Banijya Bank, Ratan Bahadur Thapa said.

Seventy million rupees had been received from Rastra Bank on June 3 and the Bank does not have any deposit since July 8, he said.

Payment of less than Rs. 1,000 is however being made with the collection of deposits into the Bank.
