It’s sad that the Constituent Assembly has dissolved. The forces who are against change in the country dissolved the CA. The expiry of CA without even a last meeting is the saddest thing of all. All the political forces are responsible. It would be better to go for fresh poll to move ahead in a new way. But there is still no guarantee that political parties will agree after elections.

We are responsible for dissolution of the Constituent Assembly. We failed to send capable representatives to make the constitution. Besides them, power hungry leaders are responsible. They could not understand our views and mandate. Now the best option will be to hold fresh elections. Parties should move ahead with agreement rather than blame each other.

I had high hopes that the statute would be promulgated and business would flourish again but it was in vain. Our great leaders, please stop fighting for the chair. Please save the country and let us do business peacefully. The government should pay more attention to peace and security of entrepreneurs now.

The Constituent Assembly has been dissolved due to the lack of coordination and dialogue between political parties. There might have been other options than to dissolve the CA. We entrepreneurs now only expect social harmony in the country.

Political leadership has failed once again so it’s obvious people are frustrated with them. But the country depends on the same leaders, so we are compelled to have faith in them. The Prime Minister has declared the date for the new CA election and people will cast vote for the same leaders even after their betrayal.

Even though the parties were trying to promulgate the constitution for the last time, some parties worked to imprison the CA. The Supreme Court has not cleared
all the cases filed years ago but expressed its verdict about the
extension of the tenure of the Constituent Assembly. In
such a situation, election is
the best option, so we should
go for election on November
22 to give an outlet to the country.

It’s difficult to transform the country based on aristocratic system to Republic at once. Remains of aristocracy still prevail in our society so it’s more challenging to form a republican constitution. Majority of people favoured a republic state yet they failed to promulgate a republican constitution. International forces also do not wish the establishment of republican Nepal.

The rights of citizens to get the constitution has been violated. People were expecting a good constitution by May 27, but political parties failed to fulfil the expectations of common people. Now the country is facing constitutional crisis with the dissolution of CA. People are confused. Parties are busy blaming each other. Now they should move ahead correcting the mistakes of yesterday and promulgate the statute as per the mandate of the people. Need of the hour is political unity. If parties do not understand the country’s situation now, anything can happen in future.

The leaders who were chosen by people four years ago to promulgate the constitution have betrayed us. Billions of rupees have been wasted for the salary of lawmakers. That amount might have constructed two huge hydro projects in the far-west. How will people ever trust these leaders again?

I am very sad and I cannot even express the depth of my frustration in words. We staged different kinds of revolutions but all in vain. We need new people to stand in elections to lead the country in the right way.

Leaders did not pay attention to constitution drafting. Rather, they were busy forming governments and becoming ministers. It’s sad that the CA has expired. There is no rule and regulation to guide the country in the absence of the CA. They should learn the lesson from the Supreme Court’s verdict. If the lawmakers had taken their responsibilities seriously, Nepalis would not have to seen such a day.

It’s a grave mistake of political parties not to promulgate the constitution on May 27. People will not forgive them ever. Now that the CA has been dissolved, the best option will be to go for election keeping in mind the verdict of the Supreme Court.
