MYAGDI: Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Rakam Chemjong today said that CPN (UML) will not join the Maoist-led government if the UCPN-Maoist forms the consensual government.

Chemjong said that the Maoist-led government will be a failure and cannot resolve the national problems if the UCPN-Maoist formed the government by fulfilling the demands of the Madhes-based parties as well.

At a press meet in the district headquarters, Beni, he said problem has been created due to the UCPN-Maoist stance for integrating the PLA combatants into the army.

He said the majority government will not succeed in resolving the country's alarming issues including the completion of the peace process and constitution-writing.

Minister Chemjong had come to Beni to inquire into the reconstruction of the physical infrastructures that were damaged during insurgency.
