Lack of bridge hits 200,000 Bardia people

GULARIYA: More than two hundred thousand people living in Bhauratapu have been affected as a result of the absence of a bridge over the Karnali River at Kothiyaghat.


People living in 11 Village Development Committees (VDCs) of Bhauratapu of Bardia have been finding it difficult to reach the district headquarters after the bridge over the river was swept away in the recent floods.


As a result, the people in Nayagaon, Rajapur, Manpurtapara, Daulatpur, Bhimpur, Khairichandanpur, Pashupatinagar, Badalpur, Manau have been compelled to take the alternative route to Guaria.
