NEPALGUNJ: The Mid-Western Regional Coordination Committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) said Thursday that journalists are at risk while performing their duties.
The report said that journalists are feeling unsafe due to the continued threats by armed outfits. The armed groups have been piling pressure for publication and broadcasting of news content of their interest to fulfill their donation drive and assert their domination in the society.
It also said that the police and administration was failed to provide security to the journalists in this region. It alleged that even the political parties have been involved to preserve the insecurity and impunity saying they have been protecting the criminals.
The study was conducted by a team led by FNJ central member Prem KC and FNJ central member Janak Nepal, FNJ Banke president Jhalak Gaire and FNJ Bardia president Sri Ram Sigdel were the members.
