PARASI: At least one person was killed and 16 others were injured when a bus carrying pilgrims from India met with an accident at Jyamire of Dumkibas VDC in Nawalparasi district on Thursday.

According to the police, the incident occurred when the bus collided with a truck from the opposite direction and overturned.

The deceased is bus driver Riyaj Khan, 42, of Durga district, Chhatisgarh, India.

Of the 16 injured, three are in a critical condition and are receiving treatment in Bharatpur Hospital in Chitwan while 13 are receiving treatment in local hospitals in Nawalparasi
