‘The cabbies are fleecing us. It’s daylight robbery.’ This is what we normally hear nowadays especially during festival time, when there is a rumour of a bandh, or a downpour. Taxiwallahs usually overcharge during such situations knowing that we are helpless and will have to avail of their services or otherwise risk a long walk to our destination, and plus during such times even public transport is not dependable. How do you, as a common man, deal with such a situation? Do you have any suggestions for solution to such an inconvenience?
