life is not only mean to happiness. It is the combination of woe and struggle too but the biggest thing is that we have to surmount from the struggles and sorrows to find happiness. This is what actually my mother told me when i failed in my first terminal exam in class 6 and was depressed too much. I wasn't too feeble but didn't know the cause of my failure and then when my mom got this result she didn't rebuke me but console me not to get depressed with the result and to work hard.Today i am happy with my result as I passed in every subject as I do labor for it and remember the above quote always. Thanks mom for all this .

yes it had happened to me in past that thing which when i today recall it make me feel glad and feel proud to myself. it happened when i was in class l-kg when my big sister used to be 1st and i was poor in study .whenever she got prize i felt jealous and cry a lot with mom that school has not given me prize. she used to tell me if we labor hard we can not only receive prize but be praised also and then i fought with myself to be laborious and collect more and more prize than that of my sister.today when i am the 1st girl in my class i felt that if my sister was not first at that time, i did not cry or my mom did not help me then i would not get this position . so this story which began with a child now today have come to a youngster and this is what had made a vast difference on me ,today i don't cry to get prize because i know that labor is the most to get a success in life.

When i was in class 4 i had just changed my school. I was staying in hostel and had various problems. Instead of participating in sports and other extracurricular activities i used to waste my time with friends. When result was out I got really low marks. At that time my grandfather was the one to console me. He encouraged me to move ahead with diligence and work hard rather that wasting time in useless things. He said instead of repenting over mistakes in life i should move and learn from the mistakes. After that I always try to learn from my mistakes and stand up whenever I fall. It has helped me to live life happily and working hard to achieve my dream rather than wasting time in useless stuff.

When I came in Sydney as overseas student then I faced many obstacles. The main cause of it was I listened only to others. One day when I shared with my friend then she advised me to listen first my own. She even said that if I listen to others then they may spoil my mind and make me weak too. So these days I listen to my own and I have less problems than before. Parash Shrestha Sydney,NSW

Question

Someone or something always influence us in some way or the other. At the crossroads of life, there is always something that makes us take a certain road in life and not any other. What has been that something — could be a book, a film, a person, a saying, someone’s words, anything — that has made you take that particular step in life? How has that shaped your life today?
