"Beauty lies in the eyes of beholders." Women's beauty cannot be judged in just a few hours by speaking, writing and walking on stage. Beauty pageants main theme is to select a participant having beauty with brains. The latter hasn't been taken into consideration. Since 1997 Miss Nepal have been participating in various beauty pageant round the globe but hasn't backup any international competition reveals the contest held in Nepal isn't healthy. Instead of serving society these beauty pageants has been a free pass for entry to arena of advertisement and for earning name and fame. The organizers should re-think and design contest in such a way that out products of such pageants would be competitive among rest of worlds woman and even backup a title whether big or small.

doesnt matter how many beauty contest they hold nepali girls are not suited for international contests. they lack the skills, looks , walk talk the whole package. they lack the confidence , they lack the skills on how to talk to people. i have noticed a lot of nepali girls even in states after living here for 15 yrs still lack the basic etiquette. i feel that we need to train these so called models ( models for what some toothpaste ad ) to compete in "lets start with south asian beauty contest first "

the criteria for the beauty pageants is not well defined. even the contestants are not representing the real country. If and only if all the groups of people is represented and the criteria is also fixed as their local values and norms, the beauty pageant will be fruitful.

I think such beauty pageants are really healthy contests, unless the participants take their rejection as failure of their life. As far as the contribution of such contest to the society is concerned, women - married or young, children are all part of our society. Their achievements, their experiences they garner when they participate in such beauty pageants it all contributes in building up their self-confidence. Getting to know yourself and getting clear about your purpose of life is very important. Then only you can move ahead in you life. Positive attitude of today’s generation towards such beauty pageants will certainly spread positive atmosphere in every nook and corner of our society. So that participants from every corner of the society would be encouraged to partake in such contests. However, the participation charges could be a barrier. I believe the participants do have the chances that they may or may not win but there’s no chance that they will loose.

Yes,of course. The beauty pageants are healthy for the development of the society and to remove the bad customs and traditions prevalent. As we all know the words of a known person is followed by all.As the beauty pageants are done to develop the society then why is this question. So at last I would like to say a big 'Yes'.But only winning the title is not enough here they have a big responsibility and the should fulfil their responsibilitioes. If all the winners of the beauty pageants do their best to fulfil their responsibilities,iT CAN BE SAID THERE SHOULD BE BEAUTY PAGEANTS.

Beauty pageants, really doesn’t reflect the true picture as proclaimed by the every organizer of the similar nature of pageants which has been seemed mushrooming over the years. Endorsing the slogans “Beauty with Minds”, do not merely mean that the pageants will really create an idol possessing the quality along with beauty and Mind. Getting into a beauty pageant, presenting yourself flawlessly and gracefully in front of the others is a fantastic booster for your self-confidence. Furthermore, looking good, is another asset and habit you get into through a beauty pageant. Well, a disadvantage is that you might start becoming too superficial and may give importance only to outer appearance rather than sensing the deeper meanings of things. In my view I think that the organizers are utilizing the event to tap the media and Market coverage in order to boost their own products and its proposed endorsement tools. Further despite of the mushrooming, neither the talents nor the beauty had worked and none of the winner participants had never ever achieved success in representing Nepal world wide. While talking about beauty pageants in Nepal, the talents hunt has been organized without a cause and on Ad Hoc Jeopardy basis. The event is only limited to organizing and that’s all. This type of unhealthy competition will never increase the talents and skills of the participants rather will make mislead them onto their future careers. Lastly I am fully agreed with the statement that no object is so beautiful that under certain conditions it will not look ugly will is truly applicable and practical.
