Indian littérateurs honoured

KATHMANDU: The Trimurti Niketan conferred Trimurti Award on two Indian littérateurs for their contribution in promoting Nepali language and literature. Krishna Singh Moktan and Mohan Thakuri of Darjeeling were honoured on the occasion of the seventh annual function of Trimurti Niketan. The awards carry a purse of Rs 25,000. KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has eased its August 17 prohibitory order imposed in areas leading to Shankhamul, Tinkune and Maitaighar Madala from the Constituent Assembly building. KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has issued a prohibitory order at both sides of the road from Baneshhwor Chowk to Western Gate of the Constituent Assembly (CA) building up to the way to Thapagaun partially by withdrawing the District Security Committee's decision made on August 11. Police drive to step up security in hinterlands

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu police has started mobilising elite squads on the outskirts of the metropolis in the wake of a spurt in the incidents of night-time theft, looting and robbery. Police described the move as a part of pre-Dashain security measures.
