Hindu devotee slaughters a buffalo as an offering to the Hindu goddess Gadhimai in Bariyapur village, Bara district, some 70 kilometres south of Kathmandu, on November 24, 2009. Up to a million Hindu devotees gathered November 24 in a village in Nepal to witness the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of animals in a mass sacrifice that has drawn widespread criticism. Worshippers travelled long distances, many coming from neighbouring India, to attend the two-day Gadhimai festival, which honours the Hindu goddess of power and takes place once every five years in southern Nepal. I will never go to Nepal because of this brutality. Shame on this government, what an embarrassment for this country. Im sure once the whole world finds out about this on Facebook everyone will boycott this country and all tourism will stop! This is the most barbaric act of man I have ever witnessed. "UNEDUCATED RASCALS" The only thing that distinguishes we humans from animals is that we have got the thinking power,. other than that we all creatures are nothing but animals only. how can they think that god will accept such sacrifices when he is the creator of ever creature. please let me know how we can stop this brutality. Nothing more then the blind faith to gain power, all nonsense act of savagery on poor animals. This so called Bali Puja is practiced by orthodox Hindus, so did all the kings of Nepal, what they received at the end, massacre of total family members, so did the King Gynendra during his couple of years reign, he did lots of bloody puja in the wake of gaining power, but everything went upside down, he lost the power and kingdom too. But these fools can't learn from these living proofs of blind faith believers, these idiots will get nothing more then the blood and flesh from these poor animals, instead they have to bear the bad karma of taking many lives with selfish intention of seeking power. If you sacrifice an animal by slaughtering it, you are always in évery case, worshipping the Devil and not God. You condemn yourself by these actions and will go to hell, unless you start to change towards non violence instantly. BUd, Europe

what's looking organization working for animal welfare?,or Animal rights organization and neepale government? In my view this is absolutely wrong way of celebrating any festivel, i mean defination of religion.yes, we are being to be proud of hindu but that doesnot mean like that we must missuse in such a way.... what's looking Nepalese government? I think it is abolutely wrong definition of religion. it is duty of Nepalese governemnt how to manage the festival and worship to the God, must be amend the religion and make an advanced system like christian Ningwa Limbu , Uk

Buffalo are so cute and we can enjoy them as our daily food i.e Mo:Mo and i love Mo:Mo Funny , kathmandu
