KATHMANDU: Skoda MAW launched its much awaited Fabia (2012 model) today in three variants including Active Plus, Ambition Plus and Elegance.
Skoda, which until now was selling premium models such as Laura, Yeti, and Superb announced that with the Fabia, it will once again be able to cater to customers wanting to own a Skoda at a lower price.
On the occasion, renowned television personality Bhusan Dahal announced his intention to become one of Fabia’s customers and received his key from former Miss Nepal Malvika Subba.
Dahal and Subba then delivered keys to customers of Fabia who had booked their vehicles last month.
The new variants with petrol engines have 1.2 litre capacity and maximum power of 75 PS and a torque of 110 Nm. The ground clearance for each variant is 172 mm and the luggage compartment is a whopping 315 litres.
Fabia has the highest headroom, legroom and bootspace in its segment. All the variants of the new Skoda Fabia have rear fog lights, halogen headlights with manual levelling, and rear air conditioning vents under front seats.
In addition, all variants have unique features in the premium hatchback class such as telescopic steering which enables the driver to position the steering for comfortable driving and rough road package, which helps protect the bottom of the car from bumps, a must for the rough roads of Nepal. The higher end Elegance variant comes with extra features such as alloy wheels, ABS, airbags, front fog lamp, rear wiper and defogger.
Active Plus variant is priced at Rs 22,95,000, Ambition Plus at Rs 25,75,000 and the higher end Elegance is priced at Rs 26,95,000, the company said.
