Viral death toll rises to six in Dailekh

DAILEKH: Viral death toll has risen to six as one more minor succumbed to the disease last night.
The deceased is three-year-old girl Basanta BK of Goganpani VDC.
Viral fever has already claimed five lives in the past five days in Lalikanda of Dailekh district.Accoriding to Dailekh District Public Health Office, the deceased are Jaisara Thapa, 56, Ramshila Nepali, 55, one-year-old Ram Bahadur Thapa, Bhakta Bahadur Budha, 55 and Bhim Bahadur Thapa, 60.
Shanti Higher Secondary School and Parbati Primary School have been shut as scores of viral fever patients have taken ill in the district.
The disease is also said to have spread to neighbouring VDCs — Piladi, Goganpani, Dandaparajul, Baraha and Awalparajul — in the district.
A team of health workers from District Public Health Office, Dailekh has been treating the patients.
