KATHMANDU: Tul Bahadur Pun, a winner of the Victoria Cross (VC), the UK’s highest military decoration, passed away in his village house at Tiblyang, Myagdi on Wednesday night. He was 92.
Pun had long been suffering from cardiac complications. He had just returned from Britain in February deciding to stay in Nepal for the rest of his life. His last rites will be performed after his sons arrive from the UK on Friday.
Pun was awarded Victoria Cross for his bravery that he showed during the World War II in Burma. He had joined British Armed Force in 1940. He is survived by his wife, three sons and eight daughters.
