KATHMANDU: To relieve the party of the accusation that the CPN-UML is ignoring the sentiments of its leaders of ethnic background, the third-largest party is all set to form a high-level commission, which would endeavor to resolve all sorts of the intra-party disputes afflicting the party over the issue of state-restructuring.
The party´s central committee meeting on Sunday is likely to nominate the members of the commission, said UML leader Pradeep Gyawali.
The party took decision to form a separate commission on state restructuring during the Saturday’s politburo meeting after the UML´s Vice-Chairman Ashok Rai, politburo members Prithivi Subba Gurung, Bijay Subba, Ram Chandra Jha and Mangal Siddhi Manadhar warned to launch a separate political outfit if the party leadership paid no heed to the concerns of the janajatis.

The high-level commission, comprising leaders of ethnic background to study state restructuring, will hold talks with all the disgruntled party cadres and address the sentiments of Madhesis, dalits, ethnic and backward communities.
