UCPN-M grieves over Kalikot bus plunge

KATHMANDU: UCPN-M has expressed the feeling of intense sorrow over the Kalikot bus mishap which killed at least 28 people on board and wounded a dozen others, on Monday night.
Issuing a press release on Tuesday, UCPN-M offered its condolences to the families of those killed in mishap, and wished a speedy recovery to injured.
The doomed bus(Na 4 Kha 6477) was heading to Jumla from Manma of Kalikot until it skidded off the road at 11 pm at Pakha VDC-2 of Birtamod in Sherabada of Kalikot along the Karnali Highway.
As it is said that the bus carrying 45 passengers fell 500 metres down the road while backing up slowly to the other side of the narrow path, UCPN-M has also urged the concerned bodies to monitor the standards of roads.
