BUTWAL: A truck driver was killed when a truck (Na 3 kha 7912) loaded with paddy met with an accident in Butwal Municipality-12 along East-West Highway Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Umesh Ghimire, 21, a resident of Bhandara, Chitwan.
According to the Butwal Regional Traffic Police Office, the truck overturned on the road in front of a thread factory, crushing its driver to death on the spot. The truck was heading to Butwal from the East when the accident occurred.
Similarly, a man died in an accident at Dare Chowk, Chumlingtar in Chitwan along the Prithivi Highway on Saturday at 10:30 am.
A passenger bus (1 Kha 2035) was heading to Lamjung from Kathmandu when it hit a wall.
According to the Muglin police, though the deceased is believed to be the driver of the bus he is yet to be identified.
The victim is trapped inside the wreckage. To retrieve his body a crane has been ordered to the scene of the accident. They added that more casualties are feared.
