KANCHANPUR: A group of rampaging wild tuskers has destroyed the houses and crops of locals at Parasan-6 at the northern belt of Kanchanpur district last night.
The tuskers usually come from Dudhuwa National Park, India, said the locals. The houses of Bire Luhar and Birkhe Luhar were destroyed by the tusker.
Dipendra Basnet, a local journalist said that the wheat and sugarcane crops planted in 10 bighas of land have been completely destroyed. The tuskers enter the human settlement in the night so the local residents are surviving fearful nights with the tusker terror, he added.
It may be noted that the tuskers had destroyed the crops in autumn session last year.
