Tractor mishap kills 3 Bol Bom devotees in Sarlahi

KATHMANDU: Three persons succumbed to injuries while two others sustained critical injuries in a tractor mishap which took place in Sarlahi district.

Deceased and the injured were the Bol Bom devotees, police said.

The accident occurred on Monday night after an “overloaded tractor” (Ja 1 Ta 4881), carrying pilgrims, as police said, skidded off the road at Banke forest of the district along the East West highway.

The tractor was returning after wrapping up a pilgrimage to Tuteshwar Mahadev of Mahottari on the third week of Shrawan to pay respect to Lord Shiva.

Those who lost their lives have been identified as Maru Pandit of Bhaktepur, 7, Sarlahi, his wife Lalwati Devi and Umesh Mahato.
