KATHMANDU: The meeting of the top-notch leaders of the four major political parties - Unified CPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and United Democratic Madhesi Front held at Sunakothi VDC in Lalitpur on Friday ended inconclusively.

At the meet, the top leaders dwelt on the issues of budget, fresh polls, national unity government and other issues of the constitution but they could reach any written agreements.

At the meet UCPN-M proposed to transform the incumbent government into a consensus one if fresh polls were to be held, but NC and UML rejected the idea and opted to go for the election directly.

NC Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel said that NC will not accept the budget brought by the current government.

“We are not against the budget. But, we won’t let the incumbent government bring the budget”, said Poudel while speaking to media after the meet.

Similarly, CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal said that the top leaders need to hold more parleys to come up with agreements.

Earlier, the meeting of the four major parties held at Balkumari of Lalitpur on Thursday also couldn’t strike any deal.
