KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meeting of the CPN-UML is scheduled for today in a bid to resolve the rift inside the party over state-restructuring.
UML CC members will throng the party headquarters in Balkhu after 11am, sources confirmed.
Today’s CC meeting is expected to address the demands of the disgruntled leaders inside the party.
But it is yet to be ascertained whether the dissenting Janajati leaders inside the party will attend today’s CC or not.
Earlier, the Janjati and Madhesi leaders had boycotted the politburo and CC meets of the party.
Party’s Vice-chairman Ashok Rai, politburo member Gurung, Ram Chandra Jha, leader Bir Bahadur Lama, Kiran Gurung and Mangal Siddhi Manadhar, have warned to quit the party, if the party leadership did not pay heed to their demand of single-identity based federalism.
UML’s CC is however yet to finalise members for the proposed high-level commission to forge common understanding inside the party over the litigious issues including the state restructuring.
