Tipper hit claims three

SARLAHI: Three persons were mowed down by a tipper truck while they were sleeping in temporary shacks in Syaule of Sarlahi's Karmaiya VDC on yesterday night.
According to SP Sharad Oli, the deceased are Raman Sahani, Tenta Sahani and Sonelal Sahani, all of Rautahat's Paurahi VDC-3. The trio had been temporarily living on the banks of Bagmati Khola for fishing.
SP Oli said the vehicle owner had agreed to provide Rs 3 lakh to each bereaved family. The East West Highway, which was obstructed at Karmaiya in the wake of the incident, resumed at 2:15 pm following an agreement to build a passengers' waiting room at the accident site. The tipper driver has been absconding.
