KATHMANDU: Three persons, including a patient admitted at a hospital, apparently committed suicide in separate incidents in the Valley on Sunday.
Laxman Adhikari (45) jumped off the medical ward window from the fourth-floor of Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital Sinamangal Sunday night. A resident of Balaju, Adgujaru, Adhikari was suffering from asthma and was admitted at the hospital last week.
In another incident, 21-year-old Sharmila Shrestha was found hanging from the ceiling fan in in her rented room in Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No. 34 last evening. She hailed from Sunkhani of Sindhupalchowk.
In Barahi, Bhaktapur, Anita Gahawale (17) was rescued and rushed to the Madhyapur Hospital, Thimi after she was found hanging in her room using a shawl. She was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital.
Police said all three bodies have been sent for autopsy and investigations into the cases have been initiated.
