CHARIKOT: Members of the Thami community today enforced a bandh in Dolakha demanding a separate autonomous state.
The general strike threw life out of gear in Dolakha. Buses stayed off the road in the district headquarters and factories and marketplaces shut.
Bandh enforcers had descended on to the streets and held demonstrations at Satdobato and Bus Park area since morning. Hundred of passengers were hit hard due to the bandh. Vehicles of media, ambulance, however, plied smoothly.
Thami Society treasurer Laxman Thami said that they had resorted to the protest to press for a separate autonomous Thami state. Laxman Thami said they would picket Constituent Assembly building after four days.
