KATHMANDU: A teenager was found dead in Dallu area near Gitamata School in Kathmandu on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Sushma Majhi, a 3rd grader in Kankeshwori Secondary School and a local resident of Sindhuli, who had been living with her father in a two room flat at Dallu. She had been missing for the last four days.
According to the police she was last seen walking in the company two youths near her residence on Tuesday evening. Police have detained five persons under suspicion of being involved in the incident including Rajesh Maharjan, the son of her landlord. They further added that the cause of her death could only be ascertained after the postmortem which is pending in TU Teaching Hospital.
On Tuesday evening Sushma’s father, Maharjan and other youths had been drinking in the flat.
Meanwhile, a man was beaten to death by unidentified persons on Friday night at Imadol, Lalitpur.
The deceased has been identified as Arun Maharjan, 33. He had been pelted with stones by the attackers. He was rushed to Patan Hospital with head injuries where he was declared dead.
According to the police they have arrested nine youths including Dilan Maharjan, 30 on suspicion of being involved in the incident.
