KATHMANDU: When music, fashion, food and dance combine together, it gives birth to a grand celebration. This happens mostly during the festivals, which was witnessed at the Dashain Fiesta on October 16 at Tamarind Restro and Bar, Jhamsikhel.
It was hosted by Tamarind on the day of Ghatasthapana to welcome Dashain.
The event was about fashion show, live performance by Aastha Tamang Maskey and salsa performance by Riyaz Shrestha.
“It is a gift to our valued customers who have supported us,” Kishor Pradhan, Executive Director of the restaurant expressed about the event.
Varieties of designs — that ranged from Ripcurl Australia’s tee-shirts, jeans, shorts for men to colourful dresses and suits for women from The House of Alternative Apparel (HAA) to gowns and one pieces of Astik Designs — all were showcased in the four-sequenced fashion show. The fashion show made the audience look out for these designs in the town, as the designs seemed latest and wearable.
Later in the evening, Tamang Maskey entertained the crowd with soothing and rocking numbers. Songs like Khula Aakash, Sabai Thikai Huncha, Hide and Seek, Harek Saas Sita and Bhana among others reverberated the ambience of Jhamsikhel. The celebration ended with salsa dance performance by salsa instructor Shrestha.
And organiser Pradhan mentions“fashion, food, music and dance complement each other well”. So, the fashion, music and dance along with food was served “under one umbrella” to celebrate the Dashain.
