KAPILVASTU: Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Nepal Chairperson Mahendra Prasad Yadav today said the UCPN-Maoist and the Madhesi Front are preparing to contest the upcoming Constituent Assembly election by forming an alliance.

Speaking at the Nepal Democratic Women Association’s first national conference in Taulihawa today, the TMDPN chief Yadav, who is also the Irrigation Minister, said the upcoming battle will be between the pro-federalism and the anti-federalism forces.

“In order to contest the election all pro-federalism forces including the UCPN-M, Madhesi Front, indigenous nationalities, Muslim and Dalits are planning to organise joint election meetings and publicity campaigns,” he said. He urged the audience to elect the Maoist-Madhesi Front alliance with two third majority.

Holding the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML responsible for the Constituent Assembly demise and its failure to deliver, he tried to defend the announcement of fresh CA polls saying election is the best option in a democratic polity.

Held under the chairmanship of the party General Secretary Dan Bahadur Chaudhary, many other party leaders including party treasurer Shekhchandra Tara, vice-chairperson Bajra Kishor Singh among others spoke at the conference.

Over 150 representatives from 15 districts including Saptari, Bara, Dhanusha, Sunsari, Mahottari and others participated the national conference.
