KATHMANDU: “This event has changed people’s perspective of looking at the fashion world. Now, one can say I can be a super model in Nepal,” said Nagma Shrestha, Miss Nepal Earth 2012 at Signature presents The Himalayan Times TGIF Nepal Fashion Week 2013 in association with Colors X Factor in a press meet held at Soaltee Crowne Plaza on March 25. She wishes to see TGIF Nepal Fashion week to be the best fashion week in the world.
Talking at the press meet, Grihendra Munankarmi, Senior Manager, Brand and Promotions at APCA Nepal said,” With every passing year, we are trying to take the fashion industry to greater heights. We have 16 Nepali models and four Indian models to walk the ramp this year.”
TGIF Nepal Fashion Week has been a joint venture of IEC School of Art and Fashion and The Himalayan Times since 2009. “This fashion week is a great platform for the students of IEC,” said HR Yadav, Senior Faculty of Fashion Design at IEC.
Choreographer of the fashion show, Prasant Tamrakar said TGIF Nepal Fashion Week has changed the fashion world. There are eight to 10 sequences per day, according to Tamrakar. “This time I have made changes in the choreography pattern and we are ready to set the ramp on fire,” he added.
Munankarmi also informed, “From this year, we are promoting the event on television. Five episodes of TGIF Nepal Fashion Week will be broadcast on Image Channel.”
The four days (March 27-30) of glitz and glamour will showcase different ranges of clothing line, styles, designs and creative designs by 78 designers. The highlights of the event would be ramp in a more dynamic set-up, showstoppers from the Nepali movie industry and young designers’ talent.
The event will commence from 7:30 pm onwards at Soaltee Corwne Plaza, followed by cocktails and an after-party DJ session.
