KATHMANDU: A Nepali girl has won the Miss Teen World pageant held in Antalaya, Turkey on Saturday. Supriya Maskey (12) clinched the prestigious title in the 12th edition of Miss Teen World beauty contest held from 30 September to 6 October 2012.


Beating 27 participants, she became the second Nepali to win the title. Last year in the same contest, Biphaswi Poudel won the title of Miss Teen World 2011. Supriya, a seventh grader at Little Angels School, had won the Little Miss World Nepal 2012 contest, organised by Nepalese Council in September.


Earlier the official Miss Nepal 2012 Shristi Shrestha was one of the favourites in the early rounds of the Miss World contest but eventually failed to make the final shortlist.
