KATHMANDU: The election of Supreme Court Unit under Nepal Bar Association is underway with 29 candidates contesting for 13 posts in the Capital on Saturday.
In 13-member Supreme Court body under Nepal Bar Association, two contestants – Mahendra Kanta Mainali and Ram Prasad Gaudel are vying for the post of Chairman, likewise, Kedar Gautam and Arbinda Kumar Singh are contesting for the post Vice-chairman, Prem Singh Dhami, Ekraj Pokharel and Jyoti Baniya are contesting for the post of Secretary while Bishwombhar Parajuli and Raj Kumar Thapa are vying for the post of Treasurer.
Held in every two years, 20 candidates including Bishweshwar Prasad Gautam, Indra Bahadur Lama and Sadeep Kharel have contested for the post of nine members of the SC Unit election, said advocate Ishwari Maharjan.
As many as 514 out of 541 voters have cast their votes in the election.
