KATHMANDU: Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal, aka, Prachanda has said that the new constitution will be promulgated by the May 27 deadline at any cost.

Talking to media persons after the meeting of the Problem Resolution Sub-Committee under the Constitutional Committee, Dahal said that term of the Constituent Assembly will not be extended and the new constitution will be promulgated within the stipulated timeframe.

Similarly, Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Paudel said that the CA term will not be extended and constitution will be promulgated within May 27.

Today's meeting of the sub-committee ended without entering the formal agenda and the next meeting has been slated for 5 am.

The four-party meeting including the Madhesi Front will be held at the prime minister's office and the subcommittee's official meeting will be held in the afternoon, said Subcommittee Member Laxman Lal Karn.
