NEPALGUNJ: Vice-Chair of Constituent Assembly Purna Kumari Subedi said the new constitution will ensure equal rights to all ethnic communities and people living across the country.

Releasing a book ‘Federalism of Karnali Region: Geographical and Sociological View’ published by Karnali Rights Coordination Committee in Nepalgunj on Friday, she said that the Karnali region is backward from development point of view as the state intentionally discriminated it.

She stressed for pilling public pressure on the political parties as timely constitution writing is possible only through consensus.

Banke Chapter president of Federation of Nepali Journalists Jhalak Gaire, Chairman of Press Chautari, Nepal, Rudra Subedi and others said the government should be serious for the development of Karnali.

It is interesting to see Parbati Lama correcting grammar but unable to spell 'not' correctly, and will a post littered with grammatical errors - how ironic!! More autonomy for the Karnali region is essential in the new constitution. Owain, KTM

Puma is another ignorant ethnic who has no idea what federalism is and how each individual ethnic clamoring for rights will weaken the nation as a whole. Rights specified in the coming new Constitution will protect all Nepalis equally. By the way, it is improper English to say "it" is discriminated against. Rather, the proper English is that the people of a region are discriminated "against". A region of land is mot discriminated against. Discrimination is practiced against other people. parbati lama, Boston, USA

State under the name of Rivers, trees, animal, mountains will not provide long term secular federal state of nepal solution of the state development, this is totally worng concepts. this will not be excepted in coming days. Kiran sudedi, HK
