KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance and standing committee member of the UCPN-Maoist, Barsha Man Pun, has said he was confident that the constitution would be promulgated by May 27 midnight. Talking to mediapersons on the premises of the Constituent Assembly building today, Minister Pun said the leaders were accustomed to make decision at midnight, so there was huge possibility of a constitution on consensus by midnight. The political leadership would be able to build a consensus, he said. The bill to shorten the process of bringing the constitution has been passed, so there are high chances that the constitution will be delivered on the due date, he added. Although Minister Pun expressed confidence about the constitution, top political leaders are still unable to forge consensus. As a result, there is suspicion that delivering the constitution on time may not be possible. The constitution writing process is obstructed frequently due to issues likestate restructuring, forms of governance and federalism.
