KATHMANDU: Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) on Wednesday honoured eight players and sports personalities with the Pulsar Sports Award
Cricketer Prithu Baskota won the Youth Player of the Year, Jagat Tamata the Coach of the Year, Sharmila Lamichhane the Para-Athlete of the Year, and Ratan Tandon the Special Award of the Year.
Likewise, Nepal’s first Olympian Bhupendra Silwal was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Based on the SMS voting, volleyball player Ramila Tandukar was selected for the Popular Player of the Year Award.
Likewise, weightlifter Tara Devi Pun won the Female Player Award of the Year and golfer Shivaram Shrestha the Male Player of the Year.
The names were announced and the awards distributed to them amid a special function organised at the Nepal Academy Hall in Kathmandu.
The Male and Female Players of the Year and the Popular Player of the Year won a Bajaj Pulsar motorbike each, while the winners of other categories bagged a purse of Rs 30,000 each.
The winners in the Male, Female, Youth and Coach catergories were picked up from within the five nominees each already announced earlier this month.
