SOLUKHUMBU: Headmaster of the Himal Darshan Higher Secondary School Necha Ashok Sharma has been taken to Kathmandu for treatment by chartering a helicopter after he was severely injured while learning to drive motorcycle.
He was injured while learning to drive in the grounds of the school on Sunday and was taken to Kathmandu as there was no treatment in the Community Hospital in the village, said teacher Bhojraj Sharma.
He is undergoing treatment at Orthopedic Hospital at Jorpati and his condition is said to be normal.
As there is no treatment even for minor diseases in the village, and as there is no road transport and as it takes two days to carry him to the District Hospital, he had chartered the helicopter. Those who cannot charter a helicopter die without treatment.
Mostly, helicopters are chartered for patients to Kathmandu as there is no good treatment even if brought to District Hospital and there are no regular flights from Kathmandu in the district headquarters' airport either.
