DAMAULI: As many as 129 households in Tanahun and Syangja districts have been provided with drinking water facility with the installation of four solar pumps.
Following the installation of the solar pumps in the districts, water taps have been set up in 129 houses. The pumps have been constructed at Gajarkot of Tahanu and Kyakmi of Syangja at the cost of Rs. 5.6 million.
Alternative Energy Center under the Environment Ministry had provided financial assistance and Rural and Alternative Energy Pvt. Ltd. Damauli provided technical support for the construction of the pumps.
According to the Rural and Alternative Energy Pvt Ltd Damauli programme coordinator Narendra Sharma, the Center provided Rs. two million for the construction of solar pumps.
Groundwater taken out with the help of pumps is distributed to the people through the water taps.
