POKHARA: Nepali Congress general secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula on Sunday claimed that the royal palace provided Nepali Army weapons to the UCPN-Maoist to incite violence in the country.
He said that the palace had provided large quantities of weapons to the UCPN-M against the parliamentary democracy. He made the statement on the 99th birth anniversary of BP Koirala in Pokhara today.
Sitaula stated that the Maoist took the fatal step with the monarchy to make the democracy unsuccessful.
Recalling the fact that late Girija Prasad Koirala had brought the Maoist into the peace process, he said that the country was facing a crisis owing to the Maoist affection towards weapons and sovereignty.
Lastly he said that his party wants peace in politics.
