Sirsiya river clean-up drive begins

BIRGUNJ: Local stakeholders have launched a campaign to rid the Sirsiya river of pollution. Representatives from the District Administration Office, Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Nepali Journalists and NGOs working towards environment protection are involved in the campaign. They have formed a panel under the coordination of rights activist Ritesh Tripathi to prepare and present a report on causes of pollution in the river. Tripathi said his committee will prepare the report and hand it over to the local administration within 15 days.
