KATHMANDU: Sirish Gurung and Shreya Dhital were selected for the ninth Asian Swimming Championship slated for November 15-18 in Dubai. Likewise, the duo along with Miraj Prajapati were picked for the 11th FINA World Championships to be held in Turkey in December.

Sneh enters finals

Lalitpur: Sneh Rajya Laxmi Rana (386), Kulin Rana (376), Phul Maya Kyapchhaki (380), Durga Sinjali (376), Nira Banjara (371) and Rusi Thapa Magar (363) qualified for women’s 10m Air Rifle finals in the Nationwide Open Shooting Championships on Tuesday. Likewise, Saraswoti Baniya (363), Sima Tuladhar (341), Shreya KC (354), Sunita Maharjan (341), Sarita Basnet (338) and Bishnu Kumari Pun (334) made it to women’s 10m Air Pistol final. In men’s 10m Air Rifle, Tika Ram Shrestha (569), Krishna Ghorasaini (557), Hari Bahadur Thapa (555), Ram Babu Dani (549), Asim Yadav (550) and Devendra Lal Shrestha (544) earned their places in the men’s 10m Air Rifle finals. Entering the men’s 10m Air Pistol finals were Sudan Khadka (551), Kuber KC (549), Bibek Raj Dhungel (537), Abdul Wahid Ansari (530), KB Pun (524) and Bipesh Khadka (522). —

Team off to Malaysia

KATHMANDU: A three-member team — players Ayasha Shakya and Bishal Shrestha along with coach Deepak Bista — on Tuesday left for Malaysia to take part in the third Asian University Taekwondo Championships slated for October 11-13.
