SINDHULI: The President’s move to reinstate the Army Chief to his post was appropriate, said deputy vice president of Nepali Congress, Prakash Man Singh, on Saturday while speaking at a programme in Sindhuli. Had the President failed to take the initiative the Nepal Army would have been politicised, added Singh.
Singh accused the Maoists of creating the political imbroglio in the country in the name of civilian supremacy. They are demanding the reinstatement of civilian supremacy for the sake of state power, he added. Singh further said that the activities of Maoists were obstructing the constitution drafting process. It will be wrong to go for elections without resolving the issues regarding the army integration and rehabilitation of PLA personnel, opined Singh.
