KAILALI: Patients have been hit hard due to bandh in Kailali, officials said today.
“Every day over 50 people come to get rabies vaccines shot here but due to regular bandh, we are unable to administer the vaccines,” said Dhangadhi-based Seti Zonal Hospital emergency ward In-charge Krishna Bohara.
Meanwhile, agitators at the Dadeldhura headquarters Baghkhor intercepted and handed over to the police an ambulance belonging to a primary health centre of Deukhel VDC, Bajhang that was carrying liquor bottles, vegetables and diesel while returning after taking a patient to Dhangadhi.
According to the police, the agitators had intercepted the vehicle, while checking it at the bus park. “Agitators would have torched the ambulance vehicle had we not reached the spot on time,” said DSP Binod Ghimire, adding the police would not leave the driver anytime soon though will leave the ambulance following the due process.
“We will take serious action against the ambulance driver,” said DSP Ghimire. Different demonstrations were taken out in Kailali, Kanchanpur and Bajura with the ongoing far-west agitation entering its 18th day today.
