KATHMANDU: Police said on Sunday that a scooter rider who was injured after being hit by a motorcycle at Kalimati died at hospital during the course of treatment.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Niraj Gautam of Syuchatar. He breathed his last at the Kathmandu Hospital.

Pillion rider Subodh Gautam (19) was also injured. He has been admitted to the Norvic Hospital in Thapatali for treatment.

The biker managed to fleed the scene after the incident. The motorcycle’s registration number is not known, according to police.
