BHAKTAPUR: Arati Shrestha of Barahisthan-based Mahendra Bidhyashram today claimed to be this year’s SLC exams topper among girls. The girl with the total score of 749 out of 800 (93.62 per cent ) has got 96 in

English, 81 in Nepali, 97 in Maths, 94 in Science, 91 in Social, 95 in Health and Populations, 97 in Optional Maths and 98 in Computer.

Principal Mahendra Maske also identified Shrestha as the SLC topper among girls. Shrestha, daughter of Mohan Das Shrestha and Surya Laxmi Shrestha of Pandu Bazaar in Katunje, wants to enroll in a reputed college and chase her dream — becoming a computer engineer.

Mohan Das said private colleges have started approaching her for enrollment. He said it is up to her daughter to make career choices and choose the institution for further studies. Speaking at a programme, Mohan Das dedicated his daughter’s achievement to schools in the area that were open even during strikes.
