KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) sent Shakuntala Thapa and her daughter Nihita Biswas to judicial custody after recording their statements which is set to continue on Thursday as well.
A division bench of justices Balaram KC and `Ram Kumar Prasad Shah delivered the ruling to this effect.
On August 1, the SC had summoned them on the charge of contempt of court within three days.
Reacting to the court's verdict on Charles Sobhraj, on July 30,his alleged wife Nihita Biswas and Shakuntala Thapa the convict's lawyer, who also happens to be his mother-in-law, had accused the SC judges of corruption while delivering the verdict against the serial killer.
The court had upheld Sobhraj's life term imprisonment, requiring him to spend 14 more years in jail.
