KANCHANPUR: A relay hunger strike, which was started demanding undivided far-west, has been ended on Thursday.
Far-Western Awareness Forum had started the relay hunger strike from April 29 at the gate of the District Administration Office, Kanchanpur to protest the draft of the federal states brought by the UCPN-Maoist splitting Kailali and Kanchanpur districts from the Far-West Region.
Chief District Officer Basudev Dahal had broken the relay hunger strike by giving juice to the agitators.
According to Spokesperson of the Forum, Hembabu Lekhak, the hunger strike was called off after three-point agreement was signed between representatives of the Undivided Far-West and the government on Wednesday.
Lekhak warned of launching agitation again if the government and responsible parties were not serious on their demands.
Declaring the end of the relay hunger strike, Lekhak said that a new campaign will be launched at the earliest for the development of the Far-West.
