SALYAN: Rautes living in the forest of Kajeri VDC are willing to serve monkey meat to the Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai if he ever visits their village.
After receiving relief materials sent by a Vietnam citizen Aadhyatma Guru Ching Hi in Khalanga, Maina Bahadur Sahi, chief of Raute said he would serve monkey meat as cooked meal to the prime minister if he likes.
Sahi said the Rautes had invited the PM Bhattarai at a programme some days ago in Dang and had urged him to spend a night in the village. “We have not received any information about his arrival yet,” he said.
Relief materials including rice, blankets, clothes worth Rs 2,18,500 were distributed by social officer Purna Bahadur Oli of the District Development Committee with the coordination of the ‘Raute uplift coordination community’ in the headquarters, Khalanga.
Raute chief, Maina Bahadur who was also the chairman of the programme thanked the Vietnam citizen Ching Hi and also invited him to visit their village.
At the programme, Chairman of Federation of the Nepali Journalist, Salyan Ramesh Kumar Gautam urged people to help Rautes as they are in danger of extinction.
