KATHMANDU: As an attempt to end the persisting political deadlock in the wake of the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA), UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal sought favor from the president of Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala today.
While saying that there is no alternative other than to forge consensus among political stakeholders, Prachanda reportedly urged Koirala to resolve thorny issues through talks.
Parties have been polarised since the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA) on May 27. The Maoist-led government’s unilateral declaration to go for fresh polls of Constituent Assembly (CA) has also riled the NC and other opposition parties.
According to sources, Maoist chair Dahal asked Koirala to help him in resolving present political crisis and promulgate a new constitution by forging consensus on all unsettled issues related to the new constitution.
Dahal's visit to Koirala's residence at Maharajgunj comes a day after he publicly called all the leaders for dialogue to find ways to promulgate a new statute.

Pushpin Karma Dhalbhat is betraying the people's revolution by trying to rope in Koirala for talks to resolve issues. Instead, he should be taking hardline against whole 22 political parties who are not the legitimate voice of any segment of the population except insanely greedy and corrupt brahmin, chetri and newar. Instead, he should be purging the ranks of all police, para-police and armed forces who will then arrest and detain all these demon politicians who prolong the suffering of vast majority of Nepalis. It is so sad that the revolution has been fought in Nepal and is now being compromised. There has been enough compromise! The dastardly corrupt ones will never give one inch!! parbati lama, Boston, USA
