KATHMANDU: Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government and the Maoist party are committed to reveal the whereabouts of those who were forcefully disappeared during the period of insurgency.
Meeting with the family members of the disappeared persons at his own residence in Lazimpat on Monday morning, Dahal said that the party has stepped up its efforts to start a search of people made disappeared by the state side during insurgency.
On the occasion, Dahal also pledged that his party is arduous to provide relief to the families of the disappeared persons, Dahal's assistant Shiva Khakurel quoted Dahal.
Dahal further said that commission on disappearance will be formed within few days and action against perpetrators will be taken as per the law.
On the occasion, UCPN-Maoist politburo member Hitraj Pandey and Chairman of Society of the State Disappeared Families Ekraj Bhandari, among others were present.
