Prachanda confident of timely statute

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has expressed his confidence that the new constitution would be promulgated within the May 27.
Talking with the Syamuel Tamrat, the Special Representatives of United Nations' General Secretary Ban Ki Moon at his own residence in Lazimpat, Dahal said political actors have left no stone unturned to meet the May 27 deadline.
During the meeting, Tamrat said the five-point agreement signed among the three major political parties and the United Democratic Madhesi Front(UDMF) has created the environment for forming the national unity government and also paved the way to the constitution writing process in an effective manner, said Chairman Dahal's aide Shiva Khakurel.
Special Representatives Tamrat also appreciated Prachanda’s role in peace and constitution writing process.
